The learned Dr. Doddrige, in his notes on the 17th of Acts,
v. 21, says, that the Hymns of Clyanthes to Jupiter is
beyond comparison the purest and finest piece of natural
religion, of its length, which he knows in the whole world
of pagan antiquity, and which, so far as he could recollect,
contained nothing unworthy of a Christian, or, he had almost
said, of an inspired pen. . . [signed] A Reader.
